Alfie
Patty was born and raised in rural Iowa and has been living in San Diego for more than 30 years. Patty has been training and communicating with dogs for most of her life. Growing up on a farm she was exposed to a wide variety of animals, their birthing, interaction and training. She received her first German Shepherd Dog at 10 years old and that was the beginning of her desire to work with dogs. Patty worked as a trainer and managed a 100 Dog, German Shepherd Kennel in Northern California for many years. Patty was personal friends with the breeder and owner and some of her first great German Shepherd Dogs came from this kennel.
Patty's passion was a driving force in the development and building of Canine Nanny Services, LLC, K-9 Training Camp, Day Camp Dogs Doggie Daycare and Tucker's Inn Doggie Lodging. Her three dogs Rio, (a German Shepherd Dog), Sumo, (an English Labrador Retriever) and Alfie (a Yorkshire Terrier) spend their days at Day Camp Dogs Doggie Daycare and their evenings sharing her home. Patty has obtained the Canine Good Citizen on both Tucker and Sumo. Tucker was also an active Therapy Dog at local schools, retirement homes, hospitals and nursing care facilities. Sumo successfully completed his Therapy Dog Prep School with Pawsitive Teams! He is absolutely an amazing, well rounded Labrador Retriever! Most recently added to the family is Rio. Already showing outstanding promise in herding and schutzhund training.
Shelley was born and raised in San Diego. Shelley owned her own successful Pet Sitting, Doggie Daycare business for many years before joining up with Canine Nanny Services, LLC. Shelley has been helping people work with their dogs on behavior and training for many years. Shelley has always had a dog growing up and her love for the well being of all animals is obvious in her daily interaction with not only her dog but everyone elses' dogs as well. Although she has always owned other pets such as cats, hamsters, fish and guinea pigs, her love for dogs was by far her lifes passion and driving force in her dedicating herself to the well being of dogs.
Shelley became a Canine Nanny and all her clients rave about the love and attention Shelley gives their animals. Shelley is Pet 1st Aid Certified, a member of Pet Sitters Association (PSA), Pet Sitters International (PSI), donates to several charitable organizations and is a member of PETA.

As many of our clients and friends are aware, Tucker passed away on October 29, 2009. As I am reminded by so many of you Tucker had a wonderful life and was loved more than words can say. He would be so happy to know all the wonderful people, clients, veternarians, and friends that sent their condolences, I think he does. He is know playing happily with, Shawn, Diego, Shadow, Cruise, Ozzie, Caponie, Barney and all the other wonderful dogs that have come into and out of his life. As well as all the friends he met along his journey.
On a happy note, little "Rio" has come to help Sumo with the passing of his best friend, Tucker. Rio is a German Import, beautiful German Shepherd puppy who arrived in California on November 21 weighing in at 8.5 pounds. I can only say that he has more than tripled that weight, is one of the more intelligent and beautiful German Shepherd puppies I have ever owned. His disposition and temperment is unmatched. At 10 weeks old he already knows his sit, down, come, stay and finish, all OFF LEASH. You can view the video of him working off leash on You Tube.
